I need to go into probate but I don’t know what kinds of accounts the person had. What do I do?

This happens in almost every case.

The first thing to do as the administrator or the executor is to go to the post office and request all mail be forwarded to you. Accounts will usually have statements coming to you in quarterly, monthly, or annual installments. Sometimes we will look at last year’s tax returns that have information about accounts, etc. In certain situations, we have a private investigator, that for a relatively small fee, can come in and search databases.

Some people have statements sent electronically, but as the administrator, you can access their email if needed.

There is no reason to be concerned, we will find all the necessary information.
